What is Domain Validation?
TrustFactory domain validated certificates are certificates where TrustFactory, the certificate authority, vets whether the purchaser has control of their stipulated domain for which they are ordering a certificate.
The validation is done based on the purchaser's preference of either:
- Email validation:
OR
Alternatively a stipulated email address will need to be created with the host to receive the verification link
- HTTP validation
A challenge message and response is displayed to the user.
This message needs to be copied into a file on the domain website.
TrustFactory will validate the challenge once the respective message and response is "read" from the stipulated domain.
